Does not do 24P. The J-H1 has no control interface, but the addition of the iLink card really transforms it - not so much because it allows you to capture video in DV with audio over firewire (which is nice for off-lines and fast location grabs) but more because it allows you to control the deck with frame accuracy using the firewire cable, and then capture your video and audio in true HDCam from the regular outputs, which turns this little rascal into a really nice feeder deck for editing (and it is perfect to pop into a flight case and have both options available to you on location).
